I’m sorry that you’re worried about a ‘sickout’, when no such thing is taking place! However, I’m concerned that such a rumour has arisen this week, when I myself am sick and am hearing from many, many other grad students that they’re feeling sick too, and unable to come into class tomorrow. It would be unconscionable if disciplinary action were taken against sick TAs exercising their right to one of two sick days, as stipulated in article 17 of our contract! Nothing in the article requires, or permits the university to demand, proof of illness for a sick day.
